I know you from somewhere, can't explain why
I feel this way, for untold adduce.
Long ago perhaps we knew each other.
A time and place that was ours.
Premonitions fetch,
retentions of soul.
Prior to this
Odyssey,
Did we
Pair?
Now,
I earn,
requiescence
at concursions.
ensuing urge,
to own you close to heart.
Wells joy and sorrow with in,
If decreed fate fulfills its burden,
Will set us adrift on the ocean
Of time to lethe,... only to Sift eons.
The longing in this is so very palpable, as is the hesitation to arms.... embrace! but the last lines are the most beautiful and touching. This is, an enchanting painting from an enduring and lovely heart! Your word smithing is grand in this writing dear Mrudula.

Your current profile picture is fetching, the artist in you shines through.
It happens, once in a while we connect with someone we feel we have known in another time, another place. A magnetic drawing together which can be really powerful. I do believe it to be spiritual. A touching of souls. Your lovely lines M have described perfectly something I have experienced myself on two occasions. I love your use of language and the way you have conveyed your lines. All good wishes.
The form looks like arms reaching out begging for a hug. What a lovely addition to such a meaningful exploration of the mystery of human feeling and memory.
There are so many things about experience that are difficult or impossible to explain, and I think that’s one of the most beautiful & difficult aspects of life experience. Your poem speaks to the heart of it, for me.
I like the way you describe that feeling of knowing someone before you know them and feeling things inexplicably fit. Sometimes things just fall that way, even at times when the connection is only brief. Perhaps we recognize someone’s spirit, but have other things we are meant to accomplish and so must move into new territory. I don’t know, I’ll be thinking about this.
The use of Odyssey to describe the life span is an excellent touch.
Another insightful, thoughtful poem, Mrudula. I really enjoyed it.

i like how you try to get a handle on the abstract. this immediately goes into a deep place and doesn't let up poking and prodding along. leaving no stone unturned. very deep, clever, thought-provoking, flowing stuff. i love the title and how you're trying to figure it out as you go along ... :)

Clever the way your line length begins with a long beat, tapers in the middle, then builds back up to its finish. I like the artistry of intent. Shows poetic restlessness. The guts of your work is inspiring, though I cant help but feel it is wishful thinking. We all want that missing puzzle piece to fulfill us, but settle for matching corners. Lets just say that I would like your view to be the correct one. Excellent work.

I am an incurable sentimentalist and believe in cellular memory and destiny ( all that nonsense), to some extent.
I love the way your imagery of roiling sensations & tumultuous seas is the same topsy-turvy way it feels as I search my mind trying to figure out some familiarity, some unknowable connection that sparks my memory. I think sometimes there's a certain essence to a person that we are continually attracted to, thus different people have a similar effect on us!?!?! Your message is thought-provoking (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

There have been two times in my life when I felt I had known someone before but couldn't figure out from where. Other times, conversations come so easy as though you left off somewhere.

It's that strange feeling of being in a place you don't know.
Yet you know your way around.
I suppose people cross through time. So why shouldn't you know
them? Strangers in time.
