A Poem by Mrudula Rani

Essence

The divine spark that dwells
In you and me is coequal:
the outer garb that we wear,
Was never meant to last forever.

Why thank you.
You moving out of the box with this one.
We're only here for a time.
Sadly, nothing lasts forever.
How you doing.

You forgot to put the R on the end of forever. Think you should change is to was in the last line. Other than that, this is a short but profound poem. I have missed reading your work. CD

Not having had a longtime partner of any kind in life, I don't often think along these lines. I love the way you use so few words to conjure up a universal idea, that our bodies and this earthly home are just temporary! To me this is very meaningful in relationships. I've missed seeing you here lately & I hope you're having a good time & that you are well (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Your few words turn letters into deep thought. Can only add that - for me, what we wear is not what we are.

Hoping your world is as kind as you are, Mrudula Rani. :)

I agree our hair out makeup our teeth whiteor be brown stained, our perfect or imperfect skin our clothes so fashionable or not so superficial
when some one walks into a room with a kind soul a happy peaceful soul that is the essence we see it first
great poem thanks for entering this into my 5 lines and under comp good luck well written

The outer garb is insignificant, the inner spark is everything. Wise words M.

I completely agree with you C, thank you for Your wonderful words.
I was always told that we are all born equal > a few are born to inherit higher things
My outer garbs change with mood and activity
Our very being does not last
Memories of us live on with our friends and family
