Ploys of life

Ploys of life

A Poem by Mrudula Rani

I do not comprehend
ploys of life
no nod for laughs aid no tears
ambushes at every bend
adds a proof
fate's cruel diversion with fears

gives not a chance to tend
any relief
to evade doomed souvenirs
abides all without end
disbelief
Paints future in uncertain veneers

tide of sorrows fend
Shattered reef
broken hopes crash piers
happiness shortened
by grief
silently again disappears

I don't know my friend. I had more good days than bad. Life is fair. I liked the honest tone in your words and you did well with the Tri-fall. Thank you Mrudula for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are very kind and you are welcome my friend.
The line “ploys of life” is so well crafted to bring to mind all the ways life can suck! Your poem hints at these ploys in subtle ways, not to make them out as huge issues, but more like endless mindless bothers along the way. I have to ponder some of your lines for a while and I get a variety of possibilities. The last stanza feels like a crescendo done in pounding seashore imagery (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You are far braver than me my friend daring to attempt something so very precise... and according to the rule books, you appear to have both succeeded and well and truly cracked it....and for what it's worth, I think I would have loved this little gem, even if it fell short of being a tri-fell... I usually like mine in strawberry, with loads of custard and whipped cream................. N x
