The world

The world

A Poem by Mrudula Rani

This world is but a thrift market of emotions.
A variety store, hearts' work shop, open twenty four seven!
No other planet in the universe has opened business,
for our emotional requisitions
So we can pop by and replenish with brand new fixes.
All the sentiments on earth have gone through a wringer by billions

Have shoulders to cry on, comforting hugs, kisses of passion,
For those who have the luck of love and loved ones.
The sarcastic sneers, foolish wisdom and plenty of crocodile tears
Treats with no empathy in the core
Could clog an artery.... for stress has qualities of a killer.
They aren't t the real deal when support and comfort you are craving for.

'Buy now and regret later' the house of cards' emphasizes
When He is in charge of dispenser; depression and heartache -three for one,
ridicule and nitpicking are also on the give away list,
Making you run for the exit with an empty cart!

What a wonderful ride. Journey. You have painted painted words onto a tapestry. And created beauty. Thanks for the read

Thank you for your encouraging review. I appreciate it very much.
Indeed, the world can often only be described as a sorry place--and life is, for the most part, incredibly sad.
A meaningful piece of work, M!

Thank you JY, I appreciate your review.
The world definitely lives on 24/7 now.
Sadly people try and do the same.
Burnt out at thirty. Popping pills at twenty to get you through the week.
Heart attacks, strokes, suicide.
Then you get to the kids.

You painted the world in all its naked truth!
A fascianting adventure into your amazingly colourful thoughts, Mrudula - hopefully the offers are worthy of your fine and analytical mind.

'No other planet in the universe has opened business - or our emotional requisitions ' that is unless you come from Mars or Venus!

No advertisements of business so far from any other planets for us to shop there! Thank you Emmajoy.. read more
I think your metaphors are pretty straight forward. It seems that this is not the only market in town, though you have to buy at this one for a long time before you can ever shop at the new one and no one knows what kind of products the new one has. Your poem is a very witty creation. I just wish the market had better deals. CD
