The MoonA Poem by Mrudula Rani
As the sun dipped into the horizon to quench his thirst of roaming,
Settling birds and street lamps welcomed the evening! Night entered wearing ever deepening hues of gray, Slowly she undressed , spreading the stars, and the moon in a disarray. Under her sprawled dark robes in a silvery glow shined the celestial bodies, Moon crossed the sky in a courtship waltz, every night an effort he made, Till in a complete union moon melted in to the night! And nothing but a sliver he became in a fortnight! Soon... the new moon started to gain, As he filled his frame, to the nights charms, once more he gave in! Under the demands of dawn, the paled night retreated, Morning as usual gathered evening's remetentes and joined the birds, In praise of the sun forever more, and for another day! © 2018 Mrudula RaniAuthor's Note
