A case for Cats, Dogs and Ducks

A case for Cats, Dogs and Ducks

A Poem by Mrudula Rani

The creepy crawlers, the scaly serpents!
Belly dragging, beady-eyed reptiles,
All scare the bejeezus out of me!
The crocks, alligators, lizards of all heights,
Primitive in from, and their lumbering gait,
Remind me of the long-gone Dinosaurs !

I find the reptiles, aggressive unnecessarily,
And naturally nasty!
territorial, and void of curiosity.
They might strike first,
if they suspect a provocation
Their style of dealing with the intruder
Is etched in their DNA.
It is something they can't stop in any way!
They are cunningly swift, and crawl away under a rock
They are so unlike cats, dogs, and ducks!
Who with their intelligence and ingeniouity
Gained spot eternally in our homes, and hearts.
Their cuddly cuteness overload, disposition ever
so sweet,
Their curiosity of humans is the subject of my fascination!
My cats observe me like Iam sent from heaven!

Turtles are pretty cool, cats are fiesty and dogs drool and bark too much, but I just couldn't imagine a world without animals.

I agree with you, without animals world would very bleak. Thank you for reading.
Yes, reptiles are definitely hard to like. There is something about insects that we do find repugnant. But I am actually fascinated by them. How on earth do the ants, bees, spiders etc know what to do? Their DNA? But they must have an element of consciousness... and do they too have feelings? Cats and dogs certainly do. And DUCKS too, you say? Oh, I thought the poem was very good.

My pet crocodile is taking exception to the way you're portraying him. Granted, he gets a little excited at times. The postmans leg is testament to that. But I don't get burgled. Can you say the same. Do you have a black cat.
