My new year

Rhyming poem

We begin this new year 

With a fresh start in mind,

Leaving all that was last year

Put somewhere  behind.

Forget about the stresses 

That we found upsetting 

This is a new year,

And it's time for forgetting. 

We ignore all our troubles,

And start to build a new.

Putting aside anything 

Upsetting  we been through.

We start on a fresh page

And drink to our health.

And try to make this new year

The best for ourselves. 

start a new project.

Begin a new task.

But you can not move forward 

If your going to cling to the past.

Let's start a new year

With keen positivity 

And take advantage, 

Of every new possibility

As for the new year I reckon the first month or so will see us all into lockdown again.
