Outside MyselfA Poem by Amanda Mae MacInnis
I can dip my foot in the pool, but I can't go for a swim
I can leave a note in advance, but I can't leave on a whim I'm a prisoner inside myself, I can't venture out too far I can sit in the passenger seat, but I can't drive the car I have no enemies, yet I feel the urge to fight I need to get outside myself, I need to do what's right Cause I can see life passing by, through windows we call eyes I need to get outside myself, before my soul it dies. © 2014 Amanda Mae MacInnis |
