I LOOK BACK AND FIND MYSELF LONGING
FOR THE DAYS THAT HAD PASSED FOR THE MOONLIT SKIES I WISHED WOULD ALWAYS LAST IF ONLY IT WERE YESTERDAY I'D TURN THE CLOCK HANDS BACK I'D MAKE SURE IT WAS LOVE THAT NOBODY LACKED I'D WATCH THE STARS DANCE AND FROLICH ON THE LAKE WHILE I STARE ACROSS THE LAWN WHICH EARLIER WAS A CHORE TO RAKE I'D HEAR THE WHISPER OF THE BREEZE THROUGH MY HAIR APPOLOGIZE FOR THE CHILDREN I COULD NOT BARE BUT I WOULD SEE THE SETTING SUN AND THE GIFTS IN LIFE THAT I HAD WON I UNDERSTAND AND AM ABLE TO SEE NOBODY LIVES LIFE AS IT'S MEANT TO BE EVERYONE HAS TAKEN WRONG TURNS IN LIFE IT'S JUST UP TO US TO MAKE THEM RIGHT I WISH I COULD HAVE ENJOYED IT MORE BUT YOU NEVER DO KNOW WHAT'S IN STORE THERE'S NOTHING MORE I CAN DO ON MY OWN LAID TO REST UNDER THIS MARBLE STONE © 2014 Amanda Mae MacInnis |
