Alone Without Love

Alone Without Love

A Poem by Amanda Mae MacInnis

If somebody dies of a broken heart
Does their soul ever heal, lost and apart
Why is it that life has such misery and pain
When what we give up aint worth what little we gain
How come dying lasts long but death is quick
Like a burning candle robbed of its wick
Some days I wanna give up and just drop to my knees
It'd be a lot easier without everyone to please
You see, I don't wanna die, but can't seem to live
I can't find happiness so what good can I give
I'm all bottled up just begging to burst
Life kept to myself is death only worse

this is phenomenal...
perfect subtle rhyme...not overwhelming...and the philosophy is so right on.

reminds me of a line of emily's.....
we have the power to kill, but not the power to die"

especially when it comes to hearts...we can kill hearts or have ours slain...it takes so long for the heart to die, and is so painful....but we can murder a heart with one or two words.

excellent stuff, Amanda.

So much power and emotion in this piece. The rhythm and rhyme flow effortlessly. My favorite line is " Like a burning candle robbed of its wick." A perfect description of the dying process.

Life blows. But it's all we got so lets go get a sandwich and watch the game.

I truly feel your words, raw, honest and direct...you share a brutal honesty which anyone hardly want to listen. You're talent artist. Respect!

OMG how sad and painful! But the words can fit to hundreds of lost souls, it pains me to think of anyone actually feeling this and I have felt it myself...that is why I can feel your words...excellently portraid2
