Infatuation

Infatuation

A Poem by Amanda Mae MacInnis

FEELINGS LIKE A FIREBALL
BURNING WITHOUT CONTROL
IT'S HARD TO MAINTAIN COMPOSURE
WHEN MY HEART GETS ON A ROLL
HESITATION AND UNCERTAINTY
ARE JUST A BEAT AWAY
PERHAPS ITS BETTER LEFT UNMENTIONED
WHAT I WISH TO SAY
IF KNOWLEDGE IS THE ONLY FOOD
THAT FEEDS A HUNGRY MIND
THEN I WILL TAKE JUST WHAT I'VE SOUGHT
AND THAT WILL BE JUST FINE!

I like the rhyme and rhythm and "perhaps its better left unmentioned" strikes me as accurate. May I suggest that the clarity of mention in this poem is what is missing for me.

About
I started writing poetry when I was 14 and it was as if the words just appeared in my mind. I spent the next 18 years writing down thoughts, feelings and ideas that many times just came together with.. more..
