I Can't Just PretendA Poem by Mrs.Sophrosyne10/06/2011 Title image by doodlesxx18 (http://doodlesxx18.deviantart.com/) This is why I'm not "okay".
I can't compete with history,
With memory, with past. I can't ignore the obvious I just can't make this last. I can't keep pretending I can't see what you do. I can't keep ignoring her, And all she means to you, I can't compete with perfect I cannot fill her shoes. I cannot be the girl you want, So in the end I lose. So keep your hidden messages, Keep your late night lies. And for now I'll pretend it's me you see When you look into my eyes. So keep your dear sweet memories I'll just tend my battered heart. You never promised me forever, but you never said we'd fall apart
