Falling Apart

Don’t cling to something fleeting,

Something fading in the past.

A mere memory of what was,

Something that couldn’t last.

Whether it was the distance,

All those miles in between,

Or did we simply drift apart,

Found ourselves different from who we’d been?

Sometimes you can’t return

It just can’t ever be the same

And we can point our fingers

But neither is to blame.
