All your words seem so empty

Lo faithless wraith, who hath stole my heart 

Your gilded tongue be stilled!

Your words hold poison's toxic sting

And steel so hard and cold

Lo!  Cut deep, cut swift

Cut me to the bone

Sever all ties to me

Forget the flicker of my love

And forgive me my faults

You sought to hold me in your arms

But kept me from your heart

Behind a walled barbed and high

You sheltered things you did not let me see

Left things unspoken and unshared

I gave you all i had

Let you into the darkness 

Let you lead me blindly

Your truth was false 

Though in shining eyes

I believed it real

Return, safe and warm to her arms

The one you want to hold

The one who you allowed in

Not me

You pledge your love eternal 

I thought forever had no end

But now you retreat on those words

And you have retreated to her bed

So adulterous heart be stilled

I shall have to learn not to live for you

To breathe for my own intent

So step off from me

Do not return

This is a mistake I shall not repeat

You have hurt me far too much
