Must Fly

Must Fly

A Poem by Mrs.Sophrosyne
"

You must leap You must fly Or you must die trying 7/12/2010

"

There was a time before

Before we thought love was a myth

In the future that we held so clear

In a past we never will forget

But it fades away

To nothing

To dust as ages pass

And we grow older despite our protests

And we grow up in spite of actions

And we move on

And move out into the harsh light

We find ourselves bereft of all we need

Short of breath

Lying naked before the world

Exposed for all to see

Bare for all to critique

Stripped down to our smallest flaw

To our most sensitive scars

We are thrust into the world

Unprepared for what is to come

We are all alone in the beginning

It is up to me

It is up to you

It is up to us

When you kneel at that starting line

Staring off into the distant unknown

You do not stand with a team

Here, even breath cannot follow

You must leap

You must fly

Or you must die trying.
