At EighteenA Poem by Mrs.Sophrosyne8/13/2012 Title image by sweet-reality-xo (http://sweet-reality-xo.deviantart.com/)The warm months of summer are fading fast Washed away footprints in the sand At eighteen, I see my life flying by. Hot, sun baked days, and cool nights Growing older day by day At eighteen, I can feel it in my chest. I want to slow down now Just stop right here At eighteen, I wish I could stay. You make me want to relive this The saltwater kiss on my skin At eighteen, I never want to go home. Never grow up, never settle down Never twenty eight with kids and a job At eighteen, I don’t want to grow up. Right now, anything is possible Right now, we’re on top of the world At eighteen, I just wish it would last Just a few more sun bleached days Hold my hand till summer ends At eighteen, I don’t want this to end. Summer is fading fast © 2012 Mrs.Sophrosyne |
