Bittersweet goodbye

I left a piece of my heart up there
A piece that had been huge at one time
A piece I really wanted

On the balcony looking down
Trying not to cry
So close to the sky

Seeing the light for the first time
When before it was dark
Only lit by the stars

A perfect end to a story never written
A beginning of a chapter that stopped for a while
Finally he was here, now suddenly he is gone
