From the I Have a Splitting Headache Collection. Ever know someone who would just not shut up????
PLEASE!! JustBeQuiet!!
A ceaseless, never ending supply of streaming oratory. A looping retelling of a not ever once ending story.
Must Silence the Silence. Keep at bay any quiet. Alphabet soup for each meal. A conversational diet.
A Dark Noise. A White Noise. Both Heard in Full-Color. Any-Noise-Better-Than-Silence. A Full-Volume Mutter.
Every Thought. Every Feeling. Any Time. Any Place. Brought Forth to Fill Up Every Moment and Space.
Rolling. Roaring. A Voice Ever Rumbling Sound Upon Sound. Your Tumbling Mumbling.
Ricocheting. Roiling. Rolling. Cascading. A Voice Droning On... Not Ever Once Fading!
Words Upon Words. What is Thought. What is Meant. Spoken. Shouted. Murmured. Whispered Not Silent.
Energy. Effort. Toil. All Completely Expended. It Seems as if Silence has Forever Been Ended.
Words Spoken. Words Written. Words all Around. Words Piled Upon Words. A Complete Sound Surround.
Words Tumbling, Words Mumbling, Murmuring and Musing. A Cacophony of Sound. It's My Ears You're Abusing!
The Time Here is Short. Should Ensure it’s Well Spent. What would happen I wonder, if you were for once just silent.
Please stop talking. I just cannot take one more word. SHUT UP! YOU’RE INSANE. HAVEN'T YOU HEARD? Take it outside! On your way out shut tightly the door. But first, pick up those words you've dropped all over the floor!
What a delight to find you here. In the mist of the dark poetry murk comes a spark of pixie humor created by someone who obviously enjoys her affair with words. Kudos to you! I delighted in my visit with you.
hahaha, well written!! You are so creative, haha Alphabet soup for every meal,a conversational diet, Very clever wording there Shelly. Wait, sorry let me pick up my words here before I leave your profile, hahaha. I know shhhhhhhhh (my hand over my mouth)
I read this poem the other day and I've found many lines from this coming up in my every day thoughts since then. I have a huge issue with people with mouth diarrhea. It is one of the most aggravating things in the world. You did a fantastic job on this and I'd like to read this to all of the people I know who need to stop talking for a minute and come up for air.
You rock the page with your stirring anthem of words and the fierceness at which they too often fly at our heads! We do lack moments of peace anymore... and even words of comfort can come to trample the senses if one too long has needed an escape into silence...
"I have often lamented that we cannot close our ears with as much ease as we can our eyes." ~ Richard Steele
An interesting piece, is it thoughts? dialogue? monologue?
A great fomenting, ruminating, escapade of quietude....
I'd say your writing chops are warmed up with this one, keep going.

I have a family member, who talks insanely.....all the time. Her life is one non-stop voice-a-thon, and she is very exhausting to be around. I could go on, but you get the picture..:-).
This piece reminded me of my perpetually winded relative. Thanks for sharing....you hit home with this one. Not only for me, but for many others, I am sure.
