UnknownA Story by Courtney MaeChapter 2Chapter 2. Coming I opened my eyes. The sun shone bright into the small room. Beckie mumbled something about stealing a car. I stretched out in the bed and looked around. I put my bare feet on the cold floor. I looked at the clock, it was eight a.m. I slowly got up and walked to the bathroom to start getting ready for today. The day my life would hopefully change forever. When I came back into the room Beckie was up and dressed. I was in a good mood, but a little on edge. "Hey, morning, Becks!" I said happily, unsure of what she was thinking though. "Oh, I-I..." She was in tears. I sat down on her pink, fluffy bed, next to her. I carefully put my arm around her. "Are you okay?" I asked. She whimperd quietly. I paused "Please don't cry you know, I am not good with tears." I waited. She put her hands over her face." I don't know, I guess I'm gonna miss you, thats all." She moaned. "Oh, well, I'm sorry." I started, but I could feel the tears burning my eyes. One rolled down my cheek. "But, you know I'll come and visit, you don't know how much I'll miss you." I said trying to comfort her. I felt overwelmed with guilt, I wanted to get away from her just yesterday, but now I wish I could stay with her. I felt guilty for all the times I called her a brat. "I'll even call you, if you want." I continued. She nodded. I hugged her tightly. Beckie was an emotional little drama queen. I've never seen her truly emotional before. She was the kind to throw temper tantrums. "You'd better get going." she said sadly. "I'd better." I stood up and started towards the door. I stopped and turned around. "Becks, I love you!" She was in my arms again. I was sad, I wouldn't let go. She finallly let go of me. "I love you too." She said quietly. " Come on,get out of my room!" She joked, but I could still feel the sadness. I smiled weakly."Beckie, Jane is here." Carl yelled in a nice way. She looked at me and walked out. "Bye." I whisperd, but the door was already closed. I heard Aunt Jane's car drive away. The room was now silent. I picked up my last two suitcases and stared hard into the dark walls. I looked at my half of the room and it was practically empty. I walked out and moaned sadly under my breath. I walked downstairs slowly, savoring it, into the living room. "Mom, Dad? I asked. "Hey Sweetie!" Robin said in a chirpy voice. "Ready?" They both asked at the same time. " As ready as I'll ever be." I said in a depressing voice. Carl picked up my suitcases and startes walking out the door. Robin put her hand on my back and almost pushed me out the door. I opened the back door of the car and slid in. The drive was long, not only because the school was hours away but Robin and Carl dicussed the usual 2 topics the whole way there. It rained the whole drive to the school. It stopped when we got close. " Ready Babe?" Carl asked. I didnt answer. I just pushed the door open. Wow. This place was beautiful. It was a castle. A big, beautiful, amazing castle. "Wow" rang through my mind. I heard both car doors slam. " Wow." Robin said in aw. "Yep, let's go. Come on." said Carl, in a hurry. We walked into the main building. I got a housing assingment. This was amazing. I crawled back into the car. Robin and Carl both got in. We drove down a row of small houses. We pulled into the driveway of a white house. It had three cars parked in front. "I thought I only had two roommates?" I said noticing the three cars. "You do, the red one, thats yours!" Robin said. "Oh My God! No Way! This is---This is perfect!"I jumped. "Thankyou, thank you, thank you!".This is crazy. "Your welcome." Carl said firmily. I was so excited. After I calmed down I ran to the door.I took my key out of my pocket. Okay, put the key in, then turn. I opened the door and walked in. It was really nice. Nicer than my house. A small red head was sitting on the big couch watching T.V. "Hi! I'm Kaylee Jans!" She jumped up. I smiled at her. "I'm Jaycee Smith." I said shyly. She was so peppy, it was sort of sickening. She had a pretty face with brown eyes, She was wearing heer hair in a ponytail and her neck was covered in hickies. I almost didn't notice Carl and Robin walk in with arm loads of my things. "Sorry, this is um, my roommate, Kaylee." I said trying to break free of Kaylee's talking. "Nice to meet you." Robin said. Carl grinned. Now it was the time I had been dreading, the goodbyes. "We love you so much Jaycee." Robin said looking down. "I love you guys too." I said quietly. Robin started crying. I was hoping she wouldn't dop that. I held back tears. " Be safe." She told me."I will." I promised. Carl looked at me, then unexpectedly smiled. I smiled back. We didn't have to say anything else. They both hugged me. They walked out the door. I looked down and smiled. Kaylee was talking again." Is'll be here soon, she went for a walk or something with her brother and sister." "Is?" We started setting up my room."Elizabeth Burg, our other roommate, she's pretty laid-back , but crazy." shse answerd "Crazy?"I asked. "You know what I mean." She didn't seem to mean what she wanted me to think she ment. My new room was dark purple, with a desk with a computer on it. There was a big bed and a dresser. Everything matched. "Is she here?" I heard a high, Beautiful voice call from the other room "Yes, Elizebeth, in here." Kaylee replied in a snotty voice. I swear I heard a quiet growl. She ran in and gave me a hug. Is was beautiful, she was incredibly pale with black eyes. Wow, completly black eyes. Her hair was a little bit shorter than sholder length, it was dark brown, almost black, it hung in loose, wavy, curls. "We'll be great friends I know it!" She said. They both said good night to me. This was amazing, my new life was off to a great start. The next two weeks went by so quick. Kaylee was always gone. Mostly with a different guy every time. I was becoming really good friends with Izzy. She rarely ate, or did I ever see her eat? I've seen her drink water though. She left only twice those two weeks for a few hours. I was becoming settled and at home. I couldn't wait for Monday, I had a photography class tomarrow. The teacher was on a materntiy leave so the class started late, And tomarrow was when it started. © 2008 Courtney MaeAuthor's Note
