Lonely Day

Lonely Day

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

There were no woes,no wails no tears
No glasses raised of tepid beers

No flowers laid or petals cast
There were no flags hung at half mast

No candles lit,no vigils held
Where mourners grouped for peace to meld

No songs were sung,no long parades
No heads hung low,no speeches made

They say not a single person cried
The day the poet in me died

I'm sure there is a silence left behind when a poet loses his ability to write that only he/she can sense and understand. The grief is his own alone, for that that quiet space inside is where it all came from. This is a poem for a poet to contemplate. Nice writing.

Poem is not my forte BUT i fond this extremly well written and so so saddening to think that this happens to many people that has no family, friends or has just been forgotten about and left on thier own.

Very touching, moving and sadly oh so true.

Mark.

Mr.Lopez a Poet never dies. As the snake sheds his skin on to a new season we may shed that which will not survive. Some of us ( I maybe in this category ) metamorphosis into our words our dramatic flare. Like dying a slow death of a caterpillar and emerging the ever beautiful butterfly. And yes Mr Lopez these things, these changes ,these deaths go unnoticed most of the time. I will say you could have gone deeper with this one I feel it lacked commitment at the end. I do love to read you. So finish shedding or your metamorphosis and let's get down with it.
