Only OneA Poem by Mr. Lopez
Everybody gets a turn and this turn is mine
Some get lost along the way and some get left behind There are those who just don't try and say they're not to blame Then they stop to wonder why things just stay the same My way it was never clear but my turn isn't done Everybody gets a turn but we get only one It doesn't matter how high you can count, how fast you can run Or how far you can throw What matters most is how deep you can feel, how quickly you heal, And the integrity you show It matters not the count of your coin, the clubs that you join Or the awards that you get What matters are the things that you share, the way that you care, The examples you set Who cares if you drive a nice car, if you dress like a star In the mansion you live More important are the wealth of your soul, respect as a goal And the love that you give Everybody gets a chance to do the right thing,to cry or to sing To stand or to run Everybody gets the chance to go or to stay,to mean what they say But we get only one © 2016 Mr. LopezReviews
