Roses & Letters

I try not to touch this rose,

it reminds me of beautiful days that are long gone,

days where you would dream of present,

and the dream would continue forever.

Near the rose there is a letter,

it is wrinkled and wet,

rain has done it again.

Rain that deceived your eyes and heart,

and made you miss the rushing truck.

Love the line - "where you would dream of present, and the dream would continue forever" .. clever way of stating "not wanting it to end". You infuse such emotion into such a small space .. i feel a lingering sadness, perhaps regret in this write. Maybe that's the "reader's" displacement of emotion; but either way, your writing elicited it. There is both an edge & ease to your writing. It is quite likeable :) Good write ...

If you also look much closer you would notice that the story uncovers by each stanza . Emotion with the unfold, is what I focused on, and happy you liked it.
