Birds & Republic

They think they control the world,
sit in their high heel chairs,
thinking they are gods among men.

but birds only fly with their wings on tight,
wings that we forged and gave,
for justice and for dismay.

The control button is now on hold,
the motion is cancelled by all,
we are in control.

They think the ball is on their side,
it is the ball that we made and forged,
for justice and for dismay.

No more moving on,
it's time we take you down,
not one by one,
but all at once,
there is no pause,
you don't have an order,
it's all about the borders,
you crossed the red line,
giving us the power to get you down.

I so much agree to your expressed point of view on this one! What a title: Birds & Republic!! Amazing.

I always tend to question myself, if ultimate power lies in people, the power of the majority, why is that majority so comfortable to succumb to nasty politics, consumerism, war, etc etc. It is the minority that revolts and gets suppressed. Why don't the majority not understand without a kingdom full of dedicated subjects, the King is just an useless entity! Without buyers there is no profit! Without our consent there is no war! Yet we decide to let other people decide how we should live our own very lives!!!!

That's a good question. The people should never succumb to anyone that forces his hand, not a king, not a modern ruler.

But just to clear it, the poem has no actual referance to what is happening out there, when I wrote the poem I was actually referring to one of the principle of democracy which is the republic rule.
