A Sunny Day in MayA Poem by Mrembo
A warm sunny day in May
brings what, exactly, my way? Longer blue skies to ponder.... the clouds that won’t go away. Heat ray's burn my optimism, flame my apathy from their prism. Lethargy engulfs, light comes in, blinding my mind’s vision . Who needs walks in the park, Summer BBQ's, sounds of larks? Laughter, childish screams and play, when I can… just stay in the dark. In the cesspit that’s my bed, it seems I choose a comforting dread. An empty numb inertia bubbles from a scorching hell in my head. © 2014 Mrembo |
