A woodland retreat

A woodland retreat

A Poem by The Enemy

Winter arrived along woodland track
The trees are all dormant while taking a nap
Stood tall and mighty, their trunks frozen in time
Awaiting the children just eager to climb
The woods seem so peaceful
They've done so much work
From spring into summer
A rest they deserve
In autumn they shift to a chill and a sleep
In winter they rest with leaves in a heap
In spring they will wake and new growth starts to show
In summer they bloom when their branches will. Grow
It's a cycle of life that shows nature's pride
Its what you'd expect in the countryside
