Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and Depression

A Poem by The Elusive Mr Dunne

Anxiety and Depression

"Anxiety and Depression"

Anxiety flowing through my body, I can feel it in my veins/
This depression cannot catch my body, I cannot die in vain
I do not know a single body, who could survive all my pain/
Lord I beg you catch my body, before they come for my reign
This is my migraine, my train and my train journey/
Sticks and stones break bones, but names cannot hurt me
Can't out word me, with nursery, rhymes and try merk me/
When everytime I rhyme, each line, a burn like third degree
I use a verse to set me free, like a wild bird who is caged/
They took my child and my smile, but I can fly on this page
I wish I could fly away, back to them days she was three/
Though that is all just a dream, being she is nearly sixteen
Missed ten years of her life, yet they feel they can smirk/
Only reason they're alive, is cause my child is on this earth
My life's got a lot better, though the pain has got a lot worse/
Hence why I'm writing this letter, in the hope my prayer works.

Holy S---- I'm sorry Mr. Dunne. I felt that, it yanked on my heart strings. You have a great attitude. I admire that. You have risen above it I commend you. THUMDS UP

I would be more than depressed if they took my child too! a sad state of affairs... I won't ask why, but it doesn't matter; absence is terrible; anxiety and depression go hand in hand; I've had it myself. it is a helpless feeling....I think you wrote this with a broken heart. The words are strong, yet weak in a way, all caged in...
Best, Betty
