Breathe Easy

Breathe Easy

A Poem by Paul Rose
"

My Mother passed away a few years ago from Pulmonary Fibrosis, and toward the end it was incredibly difficult for her to breathe. It's Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month (September)

"

Breathe Easy

I need air, I need air, I need to breathe...I can't get my... breath. I feel warm, flush, overcome.

I need to relax, I'm panicking, Is this me done? I catch a gasp, just a gasp,  It fill's my lungs, what's left.

I sit hunched and still, trying to focus on one breath, then another, short sharp intake of oxygen.

My eyes closed but focused on one thing, breathe, just breathe.

Minutes pass by and I am still, but still struggling. Just wish I could breathe, breathe easy.
