The art of silence

The art of silence

A Poem by Mr Whiskers

My heart was pounding out a code
and so my eyes were overflowed
You did not see my tears that fell
or the fact I had no voice to yell
A useless shout dribbled over my chin
in the form of a whimper quiet and thin
My eyes that were red and blurry now distant
A split second of thought and my head was vacant
Tingles like tiny flash-bangs in my brain
Exploding and causing my face to drain
of blood, of tears and all sensation
Foggy and numb for your declaration

Author's Note

Mr Whiskers
if you're wondering, a flash-bang is a type of grenade that blinds and deafens those near it, instead of exploding shrapnel. Not that it is so important, just saying.

but the one thing is ,
i dont think that It can not
be read by under 18s.
like i think it should be rated t .
because than more people would be
able to read it . and it may open there
eyes a lot more .

Lol. I'm actually glad you cleared up what a flash-bang is as it's relevant to the meaning of this piece. I love a poem with a good rhyme / flow and this has both. I can easily see how mortified this person is over what the other person's said to them and thought your metaphors worked really well to bring that point across.
