A Poem by Mr Whiskers

Reaching out to pull in something greater

--Hoping maybe my eyes can say more

than my inadequate voice

--Wanting to press you closer to me

-To feel every inch that I can

firmly in a grasp

though I know I must let loose

--Tight, hot pain ascends in me

but blurs and dissipates before it

      can bubble out

I don't want any of it to find you

--Scared that I am too cold

for not feeling broken

-Not wailing, though my heart may scream

-Wary that I am just not yet hit

by a void that shan't lay empty

--You will be here but absent

--I will be watchful without proper sight

...Dizzying evidence of your presence...
