Shattered MirrorA Poem by Mr WhiskersA searching of sortsInto the mirror I stare praying truth will be there But no truth is found As the words soft resound And I think this is unfair Shattered mirror shows me true silver pieces, as they rarely do Light reflecting back at me Distorting just as easily And my flaws are far from few I am feeling so unreal This isnt something I should feel Darkness softly blooms whilst I eagerly land in gloom as into the shadows I steal I dance upon the shadows shimmering as the candle glows Flickering little fire The Knaves foremost desire as only I could know Come dance with me my steps are easy Dance atop the broken glass though you may think of me as crass But still I step so lightly Deep into the mirror I stare Knowing truth shan't surface there I search in my own eyes Seeking private lies They say I'm mad like a March hare This broken mirror, this within me These shattered pieces in front of me Will I never see the truth here? This is my only fear For who could love on such as me?! © 2009 Mr WhiskersReviews
