THE SACRAMENT OF SACRIFICEA Poem by HadesRisingDark poetry
Spawned in the fury of our maelstrom
Dashed against the stones again and again The forgetting The bloodletting Grasping from beneath the waves I still see her face in the maelstrom Her delicate features frozen in screams The sacrament Of sacrifice It still haunts me in my dreams Reaching hands, cold and shattered They pull me under Desperate sails, torn and tattered They pull me under The thunder and murder once again Poised like a goddess of the sea In all her glory chained to the bow O, when the sea crashes and heaves In throes of those fathom deep below Tentacles thrash with tridents and brine Barnacles crusted with flesh sacrificed She screams in the horror realized Reaching hands, cold and shattered They pull me under Desperate sails, torn and tattered They pull me under The thunder and murder once again Old time mariners speak of this Rite of passage across seven seas Calm waters beyond the abyss She goes to slake oblivion’s needs Embracing the deepest cold wrath Where jaws of death await you on the path Cthulhu waits with whiles and blackcraft Facing the madness, she slowly laughs Reaching hands, cold and shattered They pull me under Desperate sails, torn and tattered They pull me under The thunder and murder once again Lo, behold the rise of the maelstrom Primal hunger thrives on the ocean floor I offer you And errand’s fool As she feasts on the monster’s gore Reaching hands, cold and shattered They pull me under Desperate sails, torn and tattered They pull me under The thunder and murder once again. © 2019 HadesRising |
