George Bailey

George Bailey

A Poem by Samuel Riverside
"

How do you know you exist?

"
I once knew a man named George Bailey.
I feel the bumps on the wall. Time and time again.
He was kind and caring. True family man.
I lay there at night. Wondering if I am real.
However even good men fall. Make mistakes.
The bumps on my wall are all that remind me I exist.
To wish one self away. Would anybody notice?
I beg for answers from God or anything that will listen.
Would anybody care that George Bailey doesn't exist?
No answer comes to me. I am left alone in darkness.
Alas an angel comes. With insights and truth.
All I have are the bumps. The sensation they give me.
Thus the man realized his importance. His life presented to him.
Do I exist? Does it matter? Am I George Bailey?
The angels bell rings. A happy ending.
I never knew a man named George Bailey.

Author's Note

Samuel Riverside
If you read the lines in bold/non-bold. It forms the cohesive next line.
However if you read it all together. What do you draw from it?

Is interesting. It's a bit too much of a metaphorical mixture for me to follow. Write a kiddie version for me. Haha. Thanks for sharing.
