Love is like a Barbecue

Love is like a Barbecue

A Poem by Samuel Riverside
"

My silly attempt at a love poem.

"
Nestled in the black rocks.
A small spark forms.
Setting blazing passion free.
Wild and uncontrolled.
Burning all who dare stand in its way.
However this passion cannot last.
It burns itself out.
Changes.
The black rocks have burned white.
The heat is still as strong.
Revealing truths and dependancy.
Able to withstand adversity and delicacy.
Slowly the heat fades.
In time, passes away.
For even Love and a Barbecue have an end
.

I was aiming for slight humor but hope the tone speaks for itself.

I think the humour shines through. I hope you don't feel offended by me saying this, but it's cute, almost. A kind of quirky, off-beat cuteness.
