The Debut of Lucas Ascot

The Debut of Lucas Ascot

A Poem by Lucas Ascot
"

This is the introduction piece to one of my bodies of work

"

A curl of smoke from a good cigar

And a dark room sets the stage

One thing that is truly remarkable

A pen stroke to a page

A position of divinity

One feels while in creation

Cautious, careful, yet great anticipation

To see what’s been created

Be it beauty, be it beast

Regardless of the taste of what hands create

It’s the creator’s feast

A gift to the world, in which they live

Art for all to see

Verses of hearts that are bound

Feats from hearts which are free

Accounts from those who watched

To help those who are blind of things see

Some pen strokes tell the story of how the world should be

Other quills tell the story of not so perfect worlds

Of boys that will never been men, and women who never were girls

These things are carefully noted

By the hand which holds the cigar

Carefully cautiously  written so he’ll never say he forgot

These things are found in the writing of Lucas .S Ascot
