Ahead of the CurveA Poem by Mr. MalarkeyHow to gain time to do what you love? Work harder in the present to take work away from the future
I have been on a long trip
A trip that has taken me far Far away from this place A place of relaxation and expression The expression of my heart A heart that lived many experiences Experiences of growth and hardship Hardships that have sponged my time away Time I would rather spend with friends Friends of the ink and pen The pen that tells stories to all Stories of a productive life A life wrought with work and toil Toil of both the present and future A future that I have liberated Liberated from all deadlines Even deadlines that lie far ahead Ahead of the curve, I now have freedom Freedom to relax and breathe Breathe slower, tensions calmed The calm within the storm A storm that ravaged my inner peace This peace of mind, reclaimed Reclaimed for a brief moment A moment that will soon end The end that will mark a beginning A new beginning leading to tomorrow And tomorrow, I will be here again Again, I am free from hardship © 2020 Mr. MalarkeyFeatured Review
