First poem, for the third time

Life comes in many years

Years come in many flavors
Good year, bad year
Overall, mine have been lackluster

Nobody said life would be fair
Never has, never will be
One can either wait for better times
Or take responsibility and act

What you put in is what you get out
Couldn't make a pie out of s**t
No matter how hard you try
At least, not one that people would like

Unwilling to confront my fears
Unwilling to make any meaningful change
This is how I defined my past and my present
And I think I've had enough

So... here we are again
Face to face with the source of the problem
Except now I have a little less time
Less time to live

Wiped the slate clean
Reset everything to zero
Time for a new plan
A plan to actually get my s**t together

Because if I don't
Then who will?

It's time to start living
