Tea anyone?

Tea anyone?

A Poem by Jason
"

Just a piece about the history we as a nation are making right now from my personal view point

"

In the midst of history

The same prejudices remain

Just in new form and name.

When the democratic process spoke,

In a resounding tally for hope and change.

The face of the nation changed.

The power vested in the vote

Of the people are to blame.

Even that they are trying to stop.

With stricter and some may argue,

Unconstitutional laws at the ballot box.

Propaganda based on archaic fears,

Perpetuated by the sly FOX.

As the nay Sayers continue their

Social and economic slander

From atop their non-taxed Tea box.

In the midst of history

As centuries old glaciers and ice caps melt

Natures forces of tsunami, earthquakes, hurricanes, and droughts

are felt.

Over Tea the minority still refuse

To tighten their belt(s)

On the backs of the middle class and poor

Banks and automotive manufacturers

Screamed for help.

Government answered the call

With hopes of economic stability for all.

And yet there has been no spread of wealth.

As they continue to sip tea pinkie finger raised in defiance.

In the midst of history

After three national sites were attacked

A bush controlled by a dick

Placed the Patriot Act in effect.

Not since the days of Hoover

Has citizens right to property and privacy

Been invaded like this.

Rallying cries for war sent youth over seas

To recapture the public sense of safety and peace.

From this our noble leader claimed his seat.

As private industry took to the middle east

To reap untold and untaxed profits

From war torn streets.

While in private jets they enjoy their Tea.

In the midst of history

Our nation has been forced

To unevenly divide.

Our government is based on a system

Of checks and balances

As big business issues untaxed checks for Tea

The unbalance should be plan to see,

As protesters take to Occupying Wall St,

And more oil rigs are placed to dig beneath our seas.

In the midst of history

I pose two questions.

Did our nation take one step forward

And two steps back, as we elected a President

Who's face is black?

And; Tea anyone?

A system that is failing us, and shifts to chaos theory and corporate powers enslaving us again... But people are conditioned to continue, carrying on zombies in the matrix... There's no justice, just madness now... Great piece, glad I read it and no longer feel like I'm the only one worried about what I notice out there... The real world unreal ...

Well damn! lol I don't usually like anything that has the word history in it but I definitely made an exception for this one. So well put and insightful. I really liked the 2nd stanza most for some reason. The ending though, lol.....it added a blush of humor to a deep concern. "And; Tea anyone?"
Thanks for sharing.
