Lock yourself in

Lock yourself in

A Poem by JR Darewood
"

I came up with this while cleaning today

"

Lock yourself in

to your hermetically sealed room

you don't want the weather to get in

it's hot outside

and your room is so cool
with climate-controlled CFCs

Lock yourself in

to your carefully sealed house

sanitized with products whose by-products kill people
keep the bugs out

buzzing around your trash on the curb

Lock yourself in

to your picket-fenced yard

the manicured lawn
you spent thousands to cut and treat

to keep the weeds out

nature is such a b***h

Lock yourself in

to your gated community

you don't want the wrong people here

like the people who work in your plant
sleep safe in peace and quiet
locked away from the strife that feeds you

Lock yourself in

to your hermetically sealed mind

while you watch reality TV

and let the world die
