Buttonwood

Buttonwood

A Poem by Mr.Boffin

who sees the Lilies?
     Herbaceous Liliums
painted with care
with aureolin
on the slough,
with Mangroves above
hovering in the wind.

who sees the Mangroves?
     Rhizophora
stretched apple green
upon a sea
and splash of
speckled aquamarine.

If Darwin wrote poetry, my friend. This last stanza literally gave me the chills for its clarity and beauty.
