Europa

Europa

A Poem by Mr.Boffin

travel to infinity, as
the black dawn approaches
this great escape, no hope;
for the dwindle of time

steer this ship, my dear
into the great abyss
years of light will pass
towards this distant place

the great lake of fire
marks our saving grace;
old worlds to new --
a change in pace.

Dear Mr. Boffin,

I am writing to express my pleasure at having discovered your writing. I must confess that you were recommended by a friend. I find her thoughts regarding the quality of your work to be accurate. You coin some unusual and perhaps obscure metaphors ("black dawn") but it the succinct lines compact stanzas bursting with image and idea that I find most enticing. Thank you for sharing.
