Mary's A Little Twisted

Mary's A Little Twisted

A Poem by Mr. Bird
"

My take on Mary had a little lamb

"
Mary had a little lamb who never received love
She'd follow Mary everywhere but always felt begrudged
Mary never noticed her or even said hello
She'd over look her everyday and made her feel so low
She'd tell her she was stupid and not so very pretty
She'd hit the lamb atop the head and never give her pity
But the lamb still would follow her, her wool all stained with blood
She'd follow her through the rain, the snow, and the sleet and mud
And Mary still ignored her so, she never spoke a word
She'd avoid her every glance, always looking at the birds
She'd make an effort to put her down, with insults and blame
She'd point her finger at the lamb, wagging it in shame
But then one day Mary wasn't watching on the road
She forget to look her lefts and rights and was flattened like a toad
The lamb was so confused, should she feel sadness or disgust?
She decided it was best to just follow around the bus
