I don't really know much about poems and romance, but I honestly really like this. I might be wrong, but I feel like this is about a man that murdered his lover and his guilt/loneliness drives him to suicide. Something along the lines of that. Or maybe he did something that somehow hurt their relationship and he's begging for her forgiveness.
