Open WideA Poem by Andrew M ParkerBeneath soil and stone, I am trapped. Inside the earth, hiding from the atmosphere. I ran from the ocean to bury my fears of being taken alive, By the monsters in the deep. It is never so dark that we can’t see, but That we are blind. Even in the light, we can’t see what’s right in front of our eyes. Maybe we’re just too close when we’re looking at something we shouldn’t. © 2017 Andrew M ParkerAuthor's Note
