In My Pond

In My Pond

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

Swim into my depths
And that is where you'll find me
Deep in thought and all alone
See how clear the waters of my mind are
Time has cleansed me of pollution
Now you can drink of my soul
Look how still the waters of my mind are
Now that the ripples of your stone
Have found the shore
Feel how warm the waters of my mind are
Wakes are sure to stir in days to come
But in my pond your stones
Will fall no more

I enjoyed your poem, to which I responded in a very personal way as I love swimming and often think of the mind as liquid. I like lines three and four as that is how I wld wish to be. But, I stresss my response is personal, I wld not want anyone swimming in such waters and wld definitely not want anyone drinking from the same. For me deep in thought and all alone...and still wld be an ideal state with no other human around to disturb me in any way.

wow.. how perfect this is in my life right now. I wish some day i could say the same thing, but for now i cannot. The stones still fall, the effect still felt, and no way for the liquid base to defend against such solid force. The fight seems vutile.. no where to hide, to block out, or to face a vision as untouchable as a ghost that haunts a territory it claims. Your words are so perfectly chosen and felt deeply. Thank you for sharing this.

Mr Lopez, this was a delight to read! It's images were honed to perfect quality and very relatible. The very shape and line length gave me a sense of the ripples themselves. i like the similar line repetition, it did well to keep a smooth tempo to the piece.

Clear, Still and Warm. The basic fundimental concepts of peace in the mind.

Well done!
