Riding The Wind

Riding The Wind

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

This isn’t how things were supposed to go

But then again….

I can’t control which way the wind will blow

I wasn’t meant to be alone and lost at sea

But then again…..

Maybe this is how I’ll get to where I’m meant to be

You see…..

It doesn’t really matter who is wrong

And who is right

What matters is that we row on through the night

The waves come crashing down on me

Despair is free

I will not let it in ‘cause even that would be a sin

On the horizon are the plans he has in store for me

I must first believe

Before I am allowed to feel or see

Because I can’t control which way the wind will blow

But when it does….

That’s the way I’m sure to go

Another excellant write. I loved the flow and imagery and the rhyme as well. Your words encourage me and leave me with a thoughtful smile. Thank you, for "your" searching, has sent me on a search as well. You show great wisdon in this poem for as you say "you cannot control which way the wind will blow". Well done. ;)

tight rhyming, as always! Very much depicting a resilient, optimistic person, and somehow your writing coaxes out that kind of person hiding inside the readers. Very inspiring!!!

i love it :)

I don't think this poem to be optomistic.
I think it's realistic.
being realistic about things, you know that things are bad but you also know that it's happening for a reason, you know that you can't and won't understand why everything is happening but you know that it's happening for a reason.

Nice comparison as to how things go as to the wind. Perhaps this is the way things were mean't to go. Perhaps the end result will be better than what you expected.

Being alone can be treacherous but I am now learning that inner strength comes from time alone.

When you say it doesn't matter who is wrong or right, but it matters that we keep going forward. I see so much strength in that line here. Never giving up and not holding grudge, powerful traits.

You show God-given qualities when you say that you must believe in what He has in store for you. Yes, showing that you have faith. Through your trials and tribulations, I can tell you handed it over to Him. I, myself, need to take lessons from you.

I like this poem. It has a positive vibe to it. For that, I appreciate your words here. Good job.
