Mountains Wait

Mountains Wait

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

Many a trail

Knows the imprint of my boot

Many a rock

 Knows my blood and sweat

Many a sunset

The desert has shared with me

Many a birds’ Song

 I have heard

The smell of stone

 Drowns my hands and shoes

The sound of hardware

 Clangs through the trees

The taste of fear

Is my closest friend

The fire hypnotizes

 My imagination

Inspired by a line

That leads me into the sky

My heart hungers

For the peace that I will find

Many a vision

 Has come to life

Many a mountain

 Waits for me

This is fabulous ML... !
I think it's one of your best writes yet,
although they are all great, individually.

"Inspired by a line
That leads me into the sky
My heart hungers
For the peace that I will find
Many a vision
Has come to life
Many a mountain
Waits for me"

This is my favorite stanza for obvious reasons.. :)
"Many a mountain waits for me".... magnificently said
and truly inspiring! Yes, we must travel many a road...
yet we endure, for we have a destination which awaits us.

This really flows nicely throughout and again...
I love the message here.

Outstanding! Again! :)

i relate to this now. I RELATE TO THIS NOW!!

having journeyed these past three months has been the best thing i could have ever done for myself. and the most powerful thing i encountered... were the mountains. i bow down to them. all i can think about now is hiking - i find myself pulling over and going into camping stores... even though i've barely ever camped in my life.

i want to be with the mountains forever. :)

"The smell of stone

Drowns my hands and shoes"

wonderful.

I just love reading your words. They come together so beautifully every time! The rhythm of it was great. I especially loved the beginning and the repetition using the word "many."

Very nice job Mr. Lopez. This one sounds like a published literary piece already. I saw the desert, the mountains, the birds. you painted a wonderful picture in my mind...and a wonderful message to our hearts.

my fav part:

The taste of fear

Is my closest friend

The fire hypnotizes

My imagination

(that is an amazing line)

........keep sharing your words of wisdom spread out through nature and our souls..

I love how it could be a metaphor and literal at the same time.
You've climbed so many mountains and seen so many sunsets.
Many obstacles in your life that you've had to overcome.
Many ends...but when theres a sunset theres always a sunrise, so many beginings.
The joy that climbing gives you.
The relief you feel when you overcome something.
This poem is brilliant.

We all have our mountains to climb, but it is in the climb that we are strengthened. If not for the mountains to climb and the valleys we would not appreciate the mountain top experiences. Very nice! Thanks for sending this. It was a great reminder.
