Silly Little Moments

Silly Little Moments

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

Still is the air in the night as I drive beneath a cloudless sky.

Accompanied by the moon and more stars then I could ever

Count even if I lived to be a million years old.

Still is my love by my side, undisturbed as I drive.

Not awake on this night. The moons light finds her

Supple cheek to rest upon while she lies safe and unstirred.

I preserve this moment in time, not knowing why.

Captured and bottled ,It will be stored along side my love

deep within the recesses of my heart

How could this moment be so important to me?

This silly little moment of mine. Surely

There would be countless others like it for years to come.

 Forever more

It would be years before I would know the answer

To this question. Storms would come and storms

Would go to assure that love would never grow

I would visit this moment and others like it

That I have collected over the years to find comfort

In their warmth. These silly little moments of mine.

These precious little moments in time.

Still is the air in the night , now I stand beneath cloudless

Skies. Under the same stars that I could never count

Even if I lived to be a million years old. Accompanied

By the moon whose light will not find on this night

Her supple cheek to rest upon, by my side………..

Forever more.

I love how you repeat stanzas in some or the majority of your poems. I love this verse.

I would visit this moment and others like it
That I have collected over the years to find comfort
In their warmth. These silly little moments of mine.
These precious little moments in time.

After losing my wife I was able to reach back at those moments. I really put an emphasis on those little moments in life. Thanks for reminding us of this fact. Great write. I am still making my way through the request and I am loving every minute of it.

This brought a tear to my eye. It told such a simple truth that so many people forget. It's often painful to look back on a love gone bad and remember those silly little moments with fondness, as it tends to bring one down again. The whole walking memory lane aspect. But you have ended this postively as the memory was of times yet undisturbed by lifes turmoils.
I agree; Treasure them, for a memory is unique from all others.

Bravo!

That was absolutely beautiful. A terrific write of depth, sadness and passion. Such tender moments are those we live to remember and keep closest to our hearts. They are the moments some seek and many will never know or find, no matter how hard they try because it's not in their destiny. For those who cherish these memories, even if the person who helped create the wonderous memories is no longer by their side, it will indeed be a memory for always.

GREAT write. I LOVED it.

This was not so much the heartbreaking tale I was expecting. But it is so beautiful. I've had many amoment like this. And tonight for some reason I remember them all and they are beautiful. So painful. But beautiful.

We do indeed need to treasure every moment that we have with those we love, for we never know when the Lord will call us home. I found this write to be some what somber. I love the introspection here. Thought provoking. I enjoyed this. :-)
