Lost at Sea

Lost at Sea

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

What happens when you lose sight

Of your northern star?

I’m sure it’s just like losing sight

Of whom you really are.

What do you do when your world

Is turned upside down?

And sharks await in hopes that soon

You’ll swim for solid ground

It seems I’ve lost directions of

Where to steer my life

I pray to God that sometime soon

On me he’ll shine some light

So now I’m set a drift, I float

I’m lost at sea

Maybe when I’m found

There will still be some life in me

And when they ask

“What happened to the twinkle in your eye?”

I’ll say

“She was the only star in my northern sky”

lol.. poetry is expression. and if you're heartbroken, well then... that's what you express.

this is masterfully crafted just like everything else of yours that i've read. it's full of emotion and impacts the reader with your pain. ML... again, you are a magnificent writer!

and if writing about your heartbreak is therapy for you, then by all means...

write it! :)

God's undying love,

Healing comes from the presence of God within our own souls, I think you have wonderfully brought that across with this!
The last stanza was beautiful and brought across feeling of loneliness. I can relate; When the storms of summer kick up, it hids the bright light of the heavens and the moon. One can't help but feeling kinda alone at those times.

I really liked how you wrote about your emotions, but with images that were not drasticly devastating.

Firstly I for one am not at all getting sick of any of your writing. Isn't feeling what writing is about? I hope for you and for me and for anyone in need that our hopes do help us heal. Secondly, I think this is a really good write. I liked the flow and the rhyme and the imagery. Another geat job my friend. ;)

This is so good! Everything about this is great! What stuck out to me the most is the flow of rhymes. It completed a fantastic poem beautifully. Really, really good.

There's always room for another really good "lost love" poem.

This is one of those

Well written and full of emotion

Write what you feel we tend to do our best work when we do!

Definitely not sick of them, because they all are different from one another. This one flows easily and has a few really good lines throughout that encourage the reader to keep reading. Some good images I get from this poem.
