Whispers Heard

With every mountain that I climb

In every sunrise that I see

I find inside my heart

The man that God intended me to be

Without the hate, confused distrust

The scattered pieces of who I was

To be released from all my pain

I climb for life that I regain

Through high tree tops his whispered word

His message is now loudly heard

In every smile that is free to take

From ashes I can finally wake

Now the mountain top is what I seek

So I can see who I’m to be

And when I find his Godly view

Another man

I will be new

Isn't that why we climb so high - to see who we really are? I know this will touch many, but it imprints a special place on my heart. How fantastic that you've combined climbing with finding oneself. I swear, when I'm on a mountain struggling between my next move and the fear of the height, I think I can see myself - or what I hope to see - and that is worth everything.
