I know it

I know it

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

There was love in that kiss and I felt it

There was joy in her smile and I shared it

There was hope in her touch

That I needed so much

That would keep me afloat

And she knew it

There was truth in her eyes and I saw it

There’s a gift in her heart and she knows it

There would be times I would miss

I could write out a list

With nowhere to send

So I own it

Mixed with words left unsaid

And the dreams that are dead

Wrapped with pain and our shame

And I hold it

Now the bandage on my heart

That I wear is just there

To remind me she cares

And I know it

I could be wrong on tis one...but it looks to me like she knew all these things aboout herself that were such treasures to you and yet she hurt you with them. Yet you still hold onto what it was and even she knows it somehow but is out of your reach. Well, somehow you seem to need to remember it. Had to have been really special to you to still own it in your heart regardless of the hurt. Be well.
